| We are excited to offer a new find from the Namanga area of Kenya, Africa - a garnet that can be cut into a large, deep red stone without going black like most garnet. Average piece size is just under 9 carats and because of its makeup you can make them as large as you wish. It is only about 50% pyrope, and the remainder is a mix of almadine and spessartite. On any darker red pieces we would still suggest you take the mains to the critical angle. This is a facet grade bag-pour offer at a super price, so you will get from mediocre to AAA material in a mix of sizes. Makes gorgeous cabs, too. Larger pieces may require sawing or grinding. 10g minimum |
